Understanding Stock Rebates.
Introduction
Rebates on the prices for Stock Items can be added manually, or imported when you import new or updated Stock Items from a file.
Adding Rebates to a Stock Item
To read about importing Stock Items with rebate figures, refer to Import Stock Items.
To manually add a rebate to a Stock Item:
- Go to Stock > Stock Details.
- Search for and select the Stock Item you want to edit.
- Click View and edit rebates in the bottom right of the screen.
In the Edit rebates screen:
- Product rebate percent: Enter the % for Product rebate. This is used to calculate the Average Cost.
- Unqualified rebate percent: Enter the % for this rebate. This is used in reporting only.
- Qualified rebate percent: Enter the % for this rebate. This is used in reporting only.
- Marketing rebate percent: Enter the % for this rebate. This is used in reporting only.
- Points rebate percent: Enter the % for this rebate. This is used in reporting only.
Product Rebate for a Supplier
You can also set a specific rebate on a Stock Item for a selected Supplier.
To do this:
- Go to Stock > Stock details and select the Stock item you want to updated.
- Click the Supplier codes tab.
If there is a Supplier code set up for this stock item, there will be a line showing for it. If not, then you can now add one.
In the Add supplier stock link section on the right side of the screen:
- Supplier: Select the Supplier you want to link to this product.
- Supplier Stock code: Enter the stock code that the supplier uses for this item.
- Click Add supplier link.
This will create a new line for you. Double click on the line to open the record in the Edit Payable Stock window.
In the Supplier specific details section:
- Product rebate percent: Enter the percentage rebate that this Supplier allows for this product.
- Click Save and close.
Rebate Definitions

Product rebate percent: This is used to calculate the Stock Branch Average Cost, which then flows through to calculate the Margin which is used in Sales Order Approval and used for end-of-month stock valuations.

Unqualified rebate percent: This rebate is used in the Payables report Create Rebate Validation Spreadsheet.

Qualified rebate percent: This rebate is used in the Payables report Create Rebate Validation Spreadsheet.

Marketing rebate percent: This rebate is used in the Payables report Create Rebate Validation Spreadsheet.

Points rebate percent: This rebate is used in the Payables report Create Rebate Validation Spreadsheet.
The last four rebate fields are used only for reporting. The Create Rebate Validation Spreadsheet shows these calculated figures, which you can then use to do any further calculations that you may require.
Create Rebate Validation Spreadsheet
This report creates a spreadsheet that shows the calculated values for all the rebate fields for your Stock Items.
- Go to Payables > Create Rebate Validation Spreadsheet.
- Supplier: Select a Supplier, or leave blank for all Suppliers.
- Branch: Select a Branch, or leave blank for all Branches.
- Start date: Enter the Start date for the report.
- End date: Enter the End date for the report.
- Click Create Rebate Validation Spreadsheet.
This exports the report.
