Stock Items have a Key Product Indicator field that allows you to search for top selling stock items by percentage of sales value. This field is on the Stock > Details tab in the Stock section for each record.
You can setup and run a scheduled task called End Of Week Update Stock Key Product Indicator, which can be run regularly, e.g. weekly. This task goes back over invoice lines and orders for the last 12 months and sorts the results by total sales value. The Key Product Indicators for all Stock items are then updated according to their rank in percentage of sales values for the last 12 months.
The groups are:
- Top 20%
- 20% to 40%
- 40% to 60%
- 60% to 80%
- 80% to 100%
In the Advanced Search for Stock, you can select any of these groups to search for the Stock Items that bring in the most revenue.
You can also search by one of the Key Product Indicator options on the Stock Management Report.
