You can determine when the invoice will be created for a Sales Order.
The standard setting for when to create invoices for Sales Orders can be set for each Receivable account on their Options > Invoicing Options screen in the Invoice creation time field. The default setting for a new Receivable Account is Asap. This default is then used for Sales Orders created for that Receivable Account.
However, you can override the default setting when you create a Sales Order, to determine when the invoice for this particular Sales Order will be created by selecting the required Invoice create time option on the Details tab > Internals section of your Sales Order.
-
At counter: Select this option to create the invoice at the time you create the Packing Slip. There are two options.
- When you select Create Packing Slip in the sales order, you can tick Invoice and print to create the invoice now. This will create the Packing Slip and invoice in one step, or:
- You can create the packing slip, and then select the Packing slip and click the Invoice selected packing slip button, to create the Packing Slip and Invoice in separate steps.
- Asap: The next time the Task for End Of Day Create Invoices From Packing Slips runs, the invoice for this sales order will be created.
- On hold: This option can be set /unset on the front screen of the Sales Order, or in the Details screen. When you place the Sales Order On Hold, and click Save, the Invoice create time field on the Details screen will automatically be set to On Hold. When you remove the On Hold flag for the Sales Order, then the Invoice create time field will automatically be set to Asap.
- Monday...: Select any day or day combination option to have the invoice created on that day.
- Two Days After Packing Slip: Select this option to create the invoice two days after the Packing Slip has been created.
