In the Sales Module, you can send a quick SMS message to a Customer.
Introduction
From the Sales menu, you can send an SMS text message to a Customer to send updates, e.g. to advise them that their order has arrived, or to send them a general message.
This feature is also available in the Receive Goods In screen, where you can advise a Customer that their goods have arrived at your warehouse.
You can also set up auto-texting when goods that have been ordered for a customer are received in.

SMS from Sales Menu
- Start at Sales > SMS Text Message.
In the New Text SMS screen, you can now select either a Person OR an Account to send a text SMS to. You can select only one of these options.

Person: To select a Person, you can select from the dropdown list, or add a new person from the blue Plus button
above the Person field.
OR:
- Account: To select an Account, you can select from the dropdown list. Once you have selected an Account, the existing phone contacts that are associated with this Account will be displayed on the right of the screen.
From that list on the right hand side, click the green Plus button beside the Account phone number to add that number to the To mobile(s) field.
- To Mobile(s): If you have selected a number from a Person or Account, it will display here. You can also manually enter a mobile number to the To mobile(s) field. You can add multiple numbers here, separated by a semi colon, to send the SMS to several people.
- Message: Enter your message.
- Click Send.
Send SMS from Receive Goods in screen
When you are receiving in goods in for a Purchase Order that is attached to a Sales Order for a Customer, you can click the More button on the Received Goods in screen to send a Text SMS from there.
- Start at Sales > Receive Goods in.
- Select the Purchase Order for the goods you are receiving, and process the received goods as usual.
- Click Save.
- Click the More button and select Send SMS.
This takes you to the New Text SMS screen as above, where you can select a Person, Account and contact or enter a mobile number to send a text message to.
Look Up Historic SMS/TXT Messages
If you're trying to find old txt messages you've sent there are a couple of places to look. You can go to the Receivable Account's Communications tab and filter by the SMS Communication type. However, since txt messages can be sent direct to a mobile they're not always linked to a particular account. So another option is to go to CRM>Communications and enter the mobile number in the keywords field. Open the Advanced Search and set the Communication Type to SMS then search with those filters applied.
